ENGIE Group is a global reference in low-carbon energy and services. In response to the urgency of climate change, their ambition is to become the world leader in the zero carbon transition “as a service” for their customers, in particular global companies and local authorities. ENGIE is committed to responsible growth of its businesses to succeed in the central challenges of delivering an energy transition to a low-carbon economy: providing access to sustainably generated energy, combating climate change, reducing its effect and making responsible use of natural resources.
The Group is developing high-performance, innovative solutions for personal customers, urban authorities and companies by applying its expertise in four key sectors: natural and renewable gas, renewable electricity, energy efficiency and digital technologies.
As a major stakeholder in the international energy industry, ENGIE is focused on its 3 core businesses of Electricity, Gas and Energy Services to support and develop a new vision of energy for the world: sustainable energy available to everyone. The Group has a strong presence at every link in energy value chain, from low-carbon generation to the provision of energy-efficient solutions for all its customers.
As a global energy player, ENGIE operates in close to 70 countries on 5 continents. While the Group still intends to maintain its position as a key player in Europe and a leader on the energy transition, it is now a benchmark energy provider in the emerging world.
ENGIE, as part of PT Supreme Energy Muara Laboh consortium, has reached the financial closing for phase I of the Muara Laboh geothermal project in Indonesia, the Group’s first high temperature geothermal power generation plant in the world. ENGIE, through its subsidiary Storengy, has all the drilling and underground expertise to manage such projects. With construction expected to commence this year in the Solok Selatan region in West Sumatra province, the project will provide employment opportunities to 1,200 people and support local businesses during the 30-months construction period.
